Sustainability with Textile Art:

As a child, I witnessed my father's mother embroidery pillowcases and making dollies by hand stitching. My mother would pull the shoulder pads from her jackets and blouses saving them through her years, finally passing them down to me, saying, "I was going to try to do something with them but you can have them now." Then using some discarded remnants of quilts. I brought all of these items together to form the quilting homage to my mother, paternal grandmother, and aunts. I created the "Legacy of My Mothers" in honor of the women in my Family" and "Best Friends" quilts you now witness.
